Government notifies fixation of Tariff Value of Edible Oils, Brass Scrap, Areca Nuts, Gold and Silver; Provides that Import tariff on gold is at USD 1106 per 10 gms and silver is USD 1045 per kg; Notifies change on Tariff Value (USD Per Metric Tonne) on other 8 items such as Crude Palm Oil at 1153, RBD Palm Oil at 1162, Others – Palm Oil at 1158, Crude Palmolein at 1173, RBD Palmolein at 1176, Others – Palmolein at 1175, Crude Soya bean Oil at 1098 and Brass Scrap (all grades) at 5469 and Areca Nuts at 6970. 

CBIC, effective February 20, 2025, amends Notification No. 50/2017-Customs to remove Condition 84, requiring a fresh bill of entry for entries 551 and 555 concerning vessels and floating structures imported for breaking up. 

Govt issues notification to increase import duty on Lentils from nil to 5% effective from March 8, 2025. 

Govt extends concessional duty on Yellow Peas till May 31, 2025. 

Govt amends Notification No. 09/2012-Customs to provide for variance in height of re-imported diamonds of upto ± 0.05 mm in diameter for round shape diamonds and ± 0.07 mm in length and breadth for diamonds of other shapes. 

CBIC waives fees in respect of applications for transshipment of the goods imported for all customs stations; Amends Goods Imported (Conditions of Transshipment) Regulations, 2025. 

Govt withdraws export duty of 20% on Onion (HS 0703 10) from April 1, 2025.
